To provide students affordable access to internationally-recognized degree programs and to help meet employer demand, Oregon State University will offer a new ‘Future of Forestry Scholarship’ of $14,000 to eligible students outside the state of Oregon.
The scholarship is available to students who declare a major in one of the following degree programs offered by the College of Forestry: Forest Engineering (BS), Forestry (BS), Renewable Materials (BS); and Tourism, Recreation and Adventure Leadership (BS).
In addition to residency and degree program requirements, students are eligible for this award upon their admission to the university if they:
- are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident,
- have an unweighted GPA of 3.25 or higher or a transfer GPA of 3.0 or higher, and
- enroll as a full-time student seeking their first bachelor’s degree.
The award may renew annually for full-time students with a 3.0 cumulative GPA for up to four years. Students awarded the Future of Forestry Scholarship are not eligible for the Provost, Golden State, Aloha, Gem or Evergreen State Scholarships. For priority consideration, your application for admission must be received by OSU by February 1, 2020, and all supporting documentation must be received by February 15, 2020.
Applications to attend OSU beginning with the Fall 2020 term are open now. The scholarship is automatically awarded to eligible students upon acceptance to OSU.
