International Partnerships

The College of Forestry conducts broad research in the areas of forestry, natural resources, wood science, and tourism all over the world. The International Programs office partners with like-minded, world-class institutions around the globe to increase understanding of different cultures and create holistic and unforgettable experiences for our students.

The Chile Initiative

The Chile Initiative is a partnership between Oregon State University and Chilean forestry businesses and nonprofits. Chile’s diverse ecosystems (similar to the Pacific Northwest), forward-thinking forest industry, and focus on sustainable resource management makes it an ideal location for students interested in gaining perspectives on the state of forests, their use, and conservation. The Initiative aims to build and support collaborative research, targeted study, and internship experiences for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as create opportunities for interaction between Oregon’s landowners, industry and government leaders, and their Chilean counterparts.
