Legacy Bench

Title: Legacy Bench
Artist: Mark Kerstens
Media Type: Wood Art
Artist Statement: The large tree cookies in this piece were from two 150+ year old legacy Douglas Firs that were recently logged. The legs are from an old plum tree in town that was dropped for a sewer repair and the cross bar is Big Leaf Maple salvage. The armrests are from a discarded pallet.

Wild Gifts

Title: Wild Gifts
Artist: Peri Lee Pipkin
Media Type: Wild clay
Artist Statement: I built this ceramic vessel by hand out of wild clay. I'm an aspiring botanist, fascinated by geomorphology and geobotany, and working with wild clay forges a strong connection between me, the land, and the plants I love to botanize.

Synthetic

Title: Synthetic
Artist: Coral Avery
Media Type: Photography
Artist Statement: Plastics are in everything down to the fibers of the clothes we wear, but have also been found in our produce, in snow atop the Himalayas, and even in our organs. Our reliance on plastics is not only suffocating the environment, but suffocating us.
