PNW Agroforestry Workshop (Oregon)

Wednesday, October 14, 2020 - 08:00 to Friday, October 16, 2020 - 12:00

This workshop was originally scheduled for April 2020 but has been postponed due to COVID-19. New dates TBD.

For technical assistance providers, extension staff, and anyone else who works with farmers, ranchers, and forest landowners to promote agroforestry in the PNW. The overarching goal of the Pacific Northwest Agroforestry Workshops is to strengthen access to resources and advance the adoption of agroforestry practices in the region by (1) promoting innovation and knowledge-sharing within a diverse audience of service providers and agroforestry practitioners, and (2) extending the network of natural resource professionals who can support the use of agroforestry practices by landowners and producers.

Workshop participants will engage with experts from state and federal agencies, nonprofits, academia, and practitioners to deepen their knowledge on a range of region-specific agroforestry topics, including: silvopasture, forest farming and non-timber forest products (NTFPs), riparian buffers, pollinators and agroforestry systems, windbreaks, and NRCS support for agroforestry. The program includes a one-day field tour with site visits to landowners and producers who are implementing agroforestry practices in the Eugene area. More information here.
