Coral Avery

I'm a childhood cancer survivor and towards the end of my treatment, I started attending an annual summer camp for kids with cancer and their siblings - Camp Reach for the Sky. Every year, each camper gets to bring home a quilt donated by Rosie's Quilts, a local San Diego business. Throughout the years, I've gifted several of my quilts, but always held on to this one as it marked the end of my two and half years of treatment and the beginning of so many unforgettable memories and valuable friendships at camp. I travel back to San Diego every summer to be in community with fellow councilors who have had similar experiences and volunteer our time for the kids.
