My husband and I married in a small courthouse ceremony in the fall of 2012. We held a large party in the spring where we had our friends and family decorate white squares of fabric. My mom used those squares to create a quilt. The quilt includes doodles from small children, a raunchy quote from my grandmother, jokes, and advice. Some squares are stick figure representations of party events so we will always remember that someone jumped over a picnic table with their BMX bike. I'd probably look at a traditional guest book once a year. The quilt is always on the back of the couch, easily accessible on cold winter nights.
