Department of Forest Engineering, Resources + Management (FERM)

The College of Forestry's Forest, Engineering, Resources and Management department strives to support resilient, sustainable forests by advancing knowledge and science related to forest management, engineering, biometrics, hydrology, forest health and silviculture. The department's teaching and research emphasize all aspects of active forest management and restoration from regeneration through harvest for multiple land use objectives. The programs’ academic curricula cover topics ranging from public land use policy to forest product supply chain efficiency, including wood production.
