At the Oregon State University College of Forestry, we take a systems-based approach to forestry education and research — connecting every part of the system, from the forest floor to the living room floor. Our faculty and students collaborate across disciplines to study forest management, ecosystem science, forest engineering and sustainable wood products — exploring how forests support communities, economies and the environment.
While our degree programs and specialty areas are organized into three departments — Forest Engineering, Resources and Management; Forest Ecosystems and Society; and Wood Science and Engineering — we work across disciplines to address today’s most complex challenges. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, applied research and systems thinking, we move our work into the solution space, where innovation and education create practical, lasting impact for forests, people and communities.
