Rosemarie Ankre is a senior lecturer in human geography at Mid Sweden University. Her research focuses on two closely connected areas: first, integrating outdoor recreation and nature-based tourism into spatial planning and management by identifying and addressing conflicts over land and water use; and second, understanding how accessibility, nature contact, and time outdoors relate to health and well-being. She examines how existing strategies (such as participatory processes, dialogue, and planning frameworks like zoning) are used to manage these issues. During her time as a visiting scholar, hosted by Dr. Ashley D’Antonio, she will be networking and giving guest lectures and seminars.
