In Memoriam: Remembering Logan Norris

Published on

Forest scientist and longtime OSU leader Logan Allen Norris passed away Wednesday, July 15, in Reno, Nev., at age 90. Norris left a lasting mark on the H.J. Andrews Experimental Forest community and on the field of forest science. From the 1970s through 2000, Norris played a quiet but catalytic role in strengthening the interdisciplinary, inter‑institutional partnerships that shaped research on the Andrews Forest. As project leader of the USFS Watershed Research Work Unit and later as chair of OSU’s Department of Forest Science, he worked behind the scenes to support research during a period of major change in forest management and policy.

More about his life can be found in his obituary, and memorial gifts may be made to the Andrews Forest Fund.
