Welcome to Nick Bryant! Nick will be leading the Silviculture and Vegetation Management Program, with a focus on reforestation and young stand management. His strong experience and practical forestry knowledge will increase the ability of the Research Forest staff to manage the growing research forest system for diverse research, teaching, ecological, economic, and other values.
Nick is a graduate of Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management (2020). Nick has previously held roles as a wildland fire fighter, surveyor and, in recent years, forester. Most of his professional career has been spent learning and practicing silviculture. When he is not at work, you can find Nick traveling with his wife to new destinations, enjoying time with family and friends, or exploring the same great outdoors in which he works. Nick has always had an affinity for forests that he grew up around and looks forward to bringing that excitement and passion to the Oregon State University Research Forests.
