Please note: This information is for visiting scholars to the College of Forestry, and for student interns who are coming to OSU for research (but are completing their studies elsewhere). If you are interested in pursuing a degree at Oregon State University, please visit our Academics page to learn about application and admission to OSU.
All visiting scholars and interns must find a sponsoring professor
To join the College of Forestry (CoF), you'll need to be directly in touch with a faculty member who is able to serve as your COF Sponsor. If you don't already have such a contact here in CoF, please visit the College of Forestry's searchable directory and identify a member of the College whose academic discipline aligns with your research agenda. You may contact this person directly to discuss your plans. If you need assistance, please contact Rabeb Zghal in the CoF International Programs Office.
Visiting Scholars can be a post-doc researcher, a professor or researcher on sabbatical at OSU, a scientific collaborator, a guest lecturer, or a professor or researcher at OSU for a fixed amount of time. They can also be a current student at another university, provided the activity they are conducting at OSU is not part of a degree program requirement at their home institution.
Visiting Interns are current students at overseas institutions who are coming to CoF for less than 1 year to conduct research as part of a course of study, but are not seeking a degree at OSU. Internships expose participants to American techniques, methodologies, and expertise and expands upon the participant's existing knowledge and skills.
