Building the path to a sustainable future requires finding new and innovative ways to use wood and renewable materials for products we use every day. As a WINS student, you’ll be a part of a community of researchers, designers and scientists creating solutions that impact every level of the mass timber and wood products industry. From research and development to marketing and administration to art and design, WINS graduates succeed in a number of fields.

This degree is accredited by the International Society of Wood Science and Technology and offered at the Corvallis campus.

Choose from three degree options:

Art + Design

Engage with wood and other renewable materials on a design and aesthetic level, whether as a furniture designer, fine artist or entrepreneur.

Management + Marketing

Help organizations solve problems, discover consumer desires for new product features and develop new international markets for existing products.

Science + Engineering

Lead process development, create efficiencies, and implement environmentally conscious and intelligent solutions for companies and consumers utilizing wood.

Minor in Wood Products Sales

In addition to the undergraduate degree options, any enrolled OSU student not already majoring in WINS can choose to minor in wood products sales. Oregon’s forest sector companies employ hundreds of salespeople and are actively recruiting college graduates, and additional scholarships are available for students who choose this minor.

Guaranteed Scholarships for WINS Students

The wood products industry is investing in the next generation, which means every enrolled student is eligible for an annual $2,500–$4,000 Friends of WINS scholarship thanks to the following partners. Our strong industry connections can help you find professional opportunities in this exciting, fast-growing industry. The merit-based scholarship is available to traditional freshman for up to four years and to transfer students for up to two years. $2,500 is offered to all students, $4,000 is offered to students with a 3.5 GPA or better.
