Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet)

The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) is the top ranked forestry school in the world. Participate in an exchange at one of SLU's three main campuses: Uppsala, Alnarp, and Umeå. Beyond their campuses, they have 25 separate teaching and research locations across the country. 

Spend a semester in Europe and a gateway to Nordic wilderness! SLU offers a unique Euroforester degree on forest management, ecology, planning and policy that goes beyond national borders. You'll be able to take classes within this course and interact with professors and students from all around the world.

Requirements

  • College of Forestry student in good academic standing
  • At least sophomore standing
  • Minimum GPA of 2.8
  • Satisfactory OSU Conduct Record
  • All applicants must successfully complete an interview demonstrating academic purpose and maturity.

Funding Your SLU Experience

Gilman Scholarship: The Gilman Scholarship provides up to $5,000 to Pell Grant recipients participating in a credit-bearing study abroad program. The program is provided by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau Educational and Cultural Affairs to enable students of limited financial means to participate in international programs that provide them with valauble skills. Applicants must be recieving a Pell Grant at the time of application or provide proof they will be recieving a Pell Grant during their study abroad program.

The Dean's Fund for International Engagement is available to all College of Forestry students attending classes at a partner university overseas. Up to $3,000 is available to students at the undergraduate or graduate level participating in an exchange between 4-6 months.
