The Salmon Coast: Canada Study Abroad Costs

Estimated Costs for 2024 Program:

Costs Paid to OSU:

  • $1486 - Program fee (covers tuition, lodging, transportation, group meals during program, and all entrance fees)
  • $150 - College of Forestry Admin Fee (non-refundable unless program is cancelled by OSU)
  • $50 - OSU GO Application Fee
  • $275 - OSU GO Admin Fee
  • $14 - Mandatory Accident & Sickness Insurance
  • $50 - Mandatory Travel Health Consult

Estimated Personal Expenses:

  • $160 - Meals not provided by program, recreation, personal expenses (phone/internet charges, toiletries, etc.)
  • varies - Transportation from Corvallis to Vancouver Island by van is included in the program fee above. Students located outside of the route will need to budget for travel to Portland, Seattle, or Victoria.
  • varies - Optional: Cancellation for Any Reason (CFAR) Insurance

IMPORTANT PASSPORT INFORMATION

If you do not have a valid passport, we suggest that you go ahead and apply for your passport now. Both first time applicants and passport renewals can be subject to extensive delays, so we strongly suggest applying today. While it might seem premature to apply before you are accepted to your program, remember that USA adult passports are valid for 10 years so if you see yourself traveling in the future, it is worth it to apply now!

If this is your first passport, you will have to apply in person, so keep that in mind. If you already have a passport but it has expired, you will receive a new passport number when you renew your passport. It’s best to start this process early as well because you will need the new passport number to book flights and more. Passport acquisition is an additional cost not shown in the above estimates!
