Advisory Councils and Committees

Multiple advisory councils and committees guide the dean and leadership of the College of Forestry on strategic priorities, ranging from research directions for the Forest Research Laboratory to curriculum development and the use of major gifts. These groups provide valuable perspectives, connect leadership with faculty, staff, students and stakeholders, and strengthen the college’s engagement with partners across Oregon and beyond

Forestry Executive Committee

The Forestry Executive Committee includes representatives from every unit in the College of Forestry and advises the dean on the administration and management of the college.

Center for the Future of Forests and Society

The Center for the Future of Forests and Society is a 15-member advisory council that helps guide the Forest Research Laboratory in setting research priorities that align with the College of Forestry’s strategic plan.

Forestry Education Council

The Forestry Education Council is a legislatively mandated body within the College of Forestry that advises on forestry education in support of Oregon State University’s land grant mission.

Board of Visitors

The Board of Visitors is an external advisory group consisting of senior leaders from organizations who help advance the college’s mission by advocating for its educational and research goals, supporting major fundraising initiatives and providing strategic counsel to the dean.
