Much of the furniture throughout the building was locally grown and processed including the conference room meeting tables, faculty desks and benches. Some of these materials were sourced directly from the College Research Forests.

Room 316, Conference Room: 20'-x-6' maple
Crafted by: Sparrow Furniture in partnership with Zena Forests. Sparrow Furniture employs refugees to the Salem area. Ten refugees from seven countries including Iran, Syria and Pakistan have worked for Sparrow. Employees receive English tutoring as they work through an apprenticeship program with high pay and benefits upon graduation.
Source: Zena Forests, the largest contiguous block of forest in the inner Willamette Valley. Managed by the Deumling family since 1987, it has a focus on maintaining a healthy and diverse forest ecosystem. It is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, and is protected by a conservation easement as working forest in perpetuity.
