RFP - New Professional Masters Degree Program

OBJECTIVE

Faculty and staff from all three departments within the College are invited to work together to develop a College-wide Professional Masters degree program that is responsive to emerging student demand.  Possibilities to explore include:

  • Tracks/concentrations building upon existing programs and classes (e.g. Renewable Materials, FES)
  • Interdisciplinary option
  • International overlay comprising internship, study abroad, or other significant international experience
  • Online and hybrid models

EVALUATION CRITERIA

Participants must commit to collaborating in a learning community format to explore possibilities, develop options, and implement results.

DELIVERABLES

  • Assessment of potential student demand
  • Review of similar programs at other institutions
  • Submitted Category 1 proposal
  • Syllabi for new courses
  • Teaching commitment. Faculty commit to offering any associated new classes at least every other year for at least 5 years

ANTICIPATED INVESTMENT

Upon completion of the project, participants will receive $2,500 each for use at their discretion in support of program implementation, and conditional on approved uses of College funds.  Additional support will be provided as needed to shepherd the program through the CAT I process.

BUDGET & TIMELINE

Generally, deliverables are due and budget must be expended within 12 months of the start of project; elements of this agreement will include periodic progress reports.  A timeline will be agreed upon in conversation with the Program Administrator.
