![]() 1999 Field School was held at the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, in southern Utah. Twenty five students and two instructors spent 10 days hiking, swimming, and working on several projects with park personnel.

And now the real work begins: Gathering visitor use data, site restoration and renaturalization, and backcountry trash removal, along with the opportunity for lots of sightseeing, crossing rivers, and lots of hiking. Traveling home was an adventure in itself. | |
