Forestry is one of the most challenging natural resource professions in the world. The issues surrounding natural resources are diverse and complex, crossing state, national, and international boundaries. Now more than ever, skilled forest managers, researchers, and other natural resource professionals are needed. Future progress in solving such problems will require in-depth knowledge and integrative approaches. Through close ties with other departments within the University, our undergraduate students are prepared to be well-informed citizens who are cognizant of the broad issues surrounding natural resources.
