Silviculture and Ecology
Silviculture and ecology are core disciplines in the Department, providing
the basis for all forest management activities. Research thrusts include stand-level
treatments and prescriptions as well as landscape-level approaches to natural
resource stewardship and protection. Current efforts are focused on aspects
of forest health, wildland fire, and ecosystem restoration.
