Research
Our research programs are primarily directed toward evaluation and management
of Oregon's natural resources and their uses. In conjunction with other
College and University departments, the Pacific
Northwest Research Station of the
USDA Forest Service, the USDI Geological Survey, the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency, and other public and private research
organizations, we provide the research base for forest and natural
resource related issues and opportunities
in
Oregon.
We collaborate with the Institute for
Natural Resources in research
and policy analyses affecting Oregon's environment and natural resources,
and their interactions with economies and communities.
Although focused on Oregon, much of our research involves projects
of regional, national, and international scope. As a leading institution
in the study of natural resources, it is imperative that we maintain
a global perspective and contribute to improvements in forest and natural
resource stewardship on a world-wide scale.
