Forest Social Science

The Master of Science in Forest Resources with a concentration in Forest Social Science is designed for students wishing to explore linkages between human society and the forest resources upon which it is dependent. Students in this concentration must develop proficiency in the following areas: 1) Social theory relevant to the student's research, 2) Research methods appropriate to the research, 3) Forestry, to ensure an adequate grounding in the field, and, 4) Other coursework relevant to the student's particular research topic. Within the framework of these 4 areas, and with guidance from the major professor and graduate committee, students have considerable flexibility in designing their curriculum to meet their needs.
