Course Description

Conflict assessment, negotiation, and consensus building in contentious forest resource situations. Topics addressed include conflict and negotiation theory, collaboration principles, analysis techniques to determine when collaboration might be fruitful, and approaches to joint fact-finding and mutual learning in public and private forest managment. Specific cases of real conflicts in forest management will be examined.
