Course Description

A basic course in forest ecology, intended primarily for students in Forest Management, Forest Engineering, Forest Recreation, and Natural Resources. Students from across campus may also take this class to fulfill the Baccalaureate Core requirement for biology. During this course we will examine the individual components of forest ecosystems, both biological and physical, and focus on the interactions occurring in dynamic forests. Forest ecology helps us to understand how forest systems function, and how they are likely to respond to disturbance.
