Course Description

An introductory course that teaches skills necessary for successful and efficient use of computing applications common in a student's academic career. The computing applications highlighted in this course include Microsoft Word (word processing), Microsoft PowerPoint (presentation), Microsoft Excel (data spreadsheet), Microsoft Access (database management), and Irfanview (basic image manipulation). In addition we familiarize students with how to use the University computer network, e-mail systems, and offer many tips, shortcuts, and computing advice. Even someone already comfortable with some of these computing applications will learn something new. This class, or an approved substitution, is required for many students in the College of Forestry.
