Project Learning Tree ONREP Mission Statement: ONREP's Mission is to educate Oregonians about forests and forest resources and to prepare them to make informed decisions, exhibit responsible behavior, and take constructive action concerning the future of Oregon's forests. Our Basic Workshop: "PLT is a national natural resources curriculum, teaching critical thinking and is offered in Oregon through Oregon State University. PLT brings thought-provoking, field-tested activities to educators. The workshops explore the role of trees and forests in our lives.” Thanks to generous funding from the Oregon Forest Resources Institute, PLT is now free to participants throughout the entire state of Oregon. In addition, funds are available to reimburse school districts for substitute costs incurred while teachers attend this 6-hour workshop. School groups may also want to find out more about how they can take advantage of a new partnership with OMSI to bring forestry programs into their classrooms! Awards & Recognition: Recipient of a Special Environmental Service Award from the Environmental Education Association of Oregon Selected as a 1996 Flagship Program by leaders of the USDA Extension Base Program in Natural Resources and Environmental Management
