Dean's Graduate Student Recruitment Fund

Faced with increasing competition from our comparator institutions for top graduate students, the College of Forestry is initiating the Dean’s Graduate Student Recruitment Fund. The goal of the Fund is to successfully recruit applicants with exceptionally strong academic promise to CoF graduate programs.  In addition, other attributes deemed desirable by the programs, such as experience or diversity may also be considered. A maximum of $5,400 may be granted to each department per year.

Application Process

  1. Department Heads, in consultation with departmental graduate faculty, select recruits to invite to campus.  Department Heads may apply for Dean’s Recruitment Fund support for eligible activities at any time during the year.
  2. To apply, complete and submit the online APPLICATION FORM found on the CoF Graduate Programs website.  In the application, Departments must develop and commit to a student support plan indicating how each recruit will be supported (FTE and source) for the duration of her graduate career (1 year MF, 2 years MS, 3 years PhD).
  3. Documented expenses up to $5,400 per academic year will be reimbursed.  Eligible expenses include transportation, lodging, meals, and hosting events such as receptions, group dinners, etc.

The Dean’s Graduate Student Recruitment Funding Award is administered by the CoF Office of the Associate Dean for Graduate & International Programs.
